A mixed media and oil painting of the jungle growing over what was once a city and or the city blending into the ancient jungles of earth. A "greening" of our urban environments. A flower growing in the midst as a beacon of light that the jungle is the way, the forest, plant and flower life are the way to our light.
This painting is comprised of concrete and metal paint with deliberate intention to use these materials in connection to the concept this painting is about. The intentional coloration of the iron to attain various colors of rust stages coupled with oil paint to create a luminous contrast of sheens in both mediums. A visual connection to the steel, iron, and "concrete jungle" structures we are surrounded by in the city that have slowly pervaded the natural environment all around earth. The aqua hanging jade vine cascading through an unfamiliar city bringing us awe and delight while reminding us that we must have balance with technology and to create structures to honor the earth that sustains us. A respectful exchange of energy and resources. Hope is the Hope that humans will change their ways of destruction to a life that is sustainable for all life on earth.
